Environmental awareness permeates every aspect of daily life and long term planning in the Misgav region. The Teradion Industrial Park is not only restricted to nonpolluting industries, it is designed as a model of cooperation between business and the environment. Half of the park's 221 acres are reserved as green space. The landscaping and construction are environmentally friendly and suited to the area's local topography and natural surroundings. The park recently hosted members of the joint Israeli-Palestinian secretariat of the Environmental Awareness Agency and representatives of the Palestinian Society for the Protection of Nature.

The Misgav school system has integrated environmental awareness studies as part of its overall curriculum in both formal and informal education activities. Students learn about the effects of cultural and social factors on a population's attitude towards the environment. The importance of recycling and composting are taught using hands-on methods and involving active student participation.
The Regional Council provides subsidized composters to the residents. As extra incentive to expanding the use of composters, the council has offered to give a special grant to every community where 80% of the families have purchased a composter.
The council's goal is to significantly reduce the quantity of garbage generated by the region's residents. In addition, a pilot project for recycling is under way .
