Becoming Acquainted with the VILLAGE

At this stage you will be able to receive first-hand information regarding the lifestyle at a particular village, the ages of the children and youths, its educational institutions and the fees for using them, etc. At most villages you will be asked to arrive for an initial interview and perhaps to be hosted by a number of families.  This stage is intended to ascertain mutual coordination of expectations on the part of yourselves and that of the community.

Assessment Evaluation at a Human Resources Institute

This follows the preliminary acquaintance stage at the village or concurrently to it.

According to the directive of the Israel Land Administration (Decision 1064), you are required to undergo an assessment examination.  We have appointed the Keinan Sheffy Institute to conduct this assessment examination.  You may undergo this examination in Haifa or at one of the larger cities that is most convenient for you.  The examination usually takes approximately 4 hours. The cost of this examination is to be defrayed by you directly to the institute.

The offices are located in the Germany Colony of Haifa,  6 Ben Gurion Boulevard.

Important note: Results of the examination are submitted to a representative of the regional committee and to an authorized person from the destination village.  The results will be kept in strictest confidentiality and will not be used for any purpose except that relating to the absorption process at the village.  Results of the examination will be valid for all Misgav villages (except for villages with special and unique characteristics that have been determined in advance).

Regional Absorption Committee

At the end of the local absorption process, you will be invited to an acquaintance interview at the regional absorption committee comprising of a representative of the Jewish Agency for Israel and a representative of the destination village, a representative of the communities' movement (for relevant villages), a representative of the Ministry of Housing and a representative of the Regional Council.

The summons to this committee will be made by Mrs. Kochi Ostrovski, the Information Center and Absorption Committee coordinator - Telephone 972-4-9902020, Fax 972-4-9902071.

The decision of the absorption committee will be sent to you by mail.  A candidate has the right of appeal in the event of his or her application being rejected by the committee.

The entire process will take about two months.  We implement this procedure in accordance with the directives of the Israel Land Administration (ILA) and make every effort to execute this process in the easiest and shortest way possible.
