| The gnarled olive trunks at the entrance to Iblin hint at the scenery of the ancient past.
The route begins on road 70, from which we turn right at the Iblin junction, when approaching from the south. The road climbs uphill, and turnes left at the Moreshet junction, in the direction of Kaukab Abu el Heijah. There are two outdoor sclpture gardens in the village, which express the theme of peace using different materials and styles. From the sculpture gardens we have a wonderful view to the West and the South. In the village are some ancient sites worth visiting - the graves of two muslim warriors, who according to local folkore fought with Salah-a-Din against the Crusaders. Sheikh Said, "The Rainmaker", is buried in the vallage and Abu el Heijah "The Healer" is buried on the outskirts of the village.
Between the grave of Abu el Heijah and the restaurant "El Madafe", a path takes us eastwards towards the Springs of Iblin. This route takes approximately an hour and a half and passes through ancient olive groves and fields. It ends at the springs whose source is at the foot of the Atzmon Hills. It is also possible to reach the springs by car, following the signs on the dirt road, which is 200 m. south of the Yodfat junction.
From Kaukab, we continue to the east, turning left at the Shchanya junction.
Here we begin the walking trip on Mount Shchanya . The uniqueness of this hill is its view to the west and its varied rock formations. The route, which is about an hour and a half long, begins about 2.5 km from the Shchanya junction in the direction of Manof. We turn south on to the dirt track that passes between the greenhouses, and drive about 2 km until we reach a junction. From here. Continue on foot in a westerly direction. On the right, on the slope overlooking Wadi Kabul, the basalt rock and the limestone cliffs can be observed. After about 1 km, turn left on to the dirt path that climbs up to the hilltop. On the southern side of the hilltop, there are ancient caves that were inhabited until about one hundred years ago, as well as a beautiful wine-press. On the western side, past the pine forest, there is an ancient well and a breathtaking view to the west. Having enjoyed the view we can return to the car. Take a short cut through the olive grove near the hilltop, and follow the basalt dirt path northwards, which joins the main road.
