FLOW WITH THE WATER
The Sakhnin Valley is a microcosm of nature and people in israel: different religions, a variety of lifestyles and a mosaic of landscapes.

The route begins at the Rame junction on road 85, from which we travel south for 2.5km on road 804 until the parking lot.

From here we begine a walking tour in Wadi Tsalmon.  The footpath is marked in blue and the walk takes about an hour and a half.

Take the path near the water and cross the stream from time to time between the mint and the willow branches.  In some places the water has created natural waterfalls and in others, deep crevices in whose shade grow rare Alder trees.  On the eastern slope there are the remains of a water channel which directed water between the various flour-mills.  From the double-storey mill, we can continue to the bridge or return to the car via the dirt track that runs parallel to the walking route.

Traveling south on road 804 brings us to Salameh.  The beduin moved to this permanent community 20 years ago, leaving behind their small  hillside village.

Continuing westwards on road 804, we reach the turning to Kibbutz Lotem, which is on Mount Hilazon and forms part of the national water divide: Wadi Hilazon to the south flows towards the Mediterranean, while Wadi Tsalmon to the north empties its water into the Sea of Galilee.  Kibbutz Lotem, which was established in 1987, is integrating the ideas of private community with the original kibbutz community.

Continue on road 804 until the Arrabeh junction.  Here , turn west towards the city of Sakhnin, and park in the parking lot next to the cemetery, which is south of road 805.

The walking tour of some interesting places in the city begins here: the modern mosque, the museum of the traditional Arab village, the old mosque, the oil press and the church.  The sites are all connected by a cobble-stone path.
