Day Care Nurseries (pre-kindergarten)

Day care nurseries in the regional council are called "Peutonim" (pre-kindergartens) with no connection to the size and ages of the children ranging from the age of 3-4 months up until 3 years old. In nearly all our villages there are pre-kindergartens and the number of classes used is determined according to the numbers and policy relevant at each individual village. The pre-kindergarten belongs to the village and is managed by it. In other words, the ownership of the pre-kindergarten, the employment of educational staff, and the responsibility for its ongoing activity is that of the individual village. The management of the local education system is usually accompanied by resident volunteers and the education committees. The main funding is met by parents.

The Misgav Regional Council is responsible for supervision and pedagogic training and supports ongoing maintenance. The supervision and training system of the Regional Council includes all the pedagogic instructors that oversee the educational teams working at schools in the villages. Advanced education courses for staff are also held throughout the year.

Kindergartens

The kindergartens, young kindergartens and pre-school kindergartens are located in the villages but do, however, belong to and are managed entirely by the Regional Council. The educational concept for kindergartens is "analogous to circles" (the ring model of Yuri Bronfenberg) in which the child is at the center of the system. In the first circle, the child meets his/her immediate surroundings. In the second circle, the emphasis is placed on the wider social-economic connection and the final circle is devoted to the cultural concepts.
